Canadian Dementia Guideline Group

The Canadian Consensus Conference on Diagnosis and Treatment of Dementia (CCCDTD) formed in 1989, has put together five sets of dementia guidelines for Canadians, the first being in 1991 and the most recent in 2020 (CCCDTD5).

CCD and CCCDTD have partnered formally, and consolidated resources for future guideline generation in Canada. The first output for this Canadian Dementia Guideline Group (CDGG) will be Appropriate Use Recommendations for blood-based biomarkers in Canada, providing background knowledge on blood-based biomarkers, as well as concrete and practical tips on their use, adaptable to different jurisdictions and settings. The guideline group has partnered with the US Alzheimer’s Association for the background systematic review evidence to inform these Appropriate Use Recommendations.
